This year’s Annual Conference will be hosted on the 1st June.  This year’s theme is aimed towards the prevention aspect of Gender Based Violence and Domestic Violence.  Prevention is one of the 4 pillars targeted in the National Strategy for Gender Based Violence and Domestic Violence.

The Commission will be hosting national and international experts to share their findings, experiences and good practices.  Moreover the Conference will also be animated with a panel discussion.  On this panel we will be having various professionals within the sector.

Prof. Andrew Azzopardi will be the moderator of this Conference.

This year’s break-out sessions will be targeting the prevention aspect from a variety of perspectives namely Educational from a young age and young adults, Mental Health, Same Sex Relationships, Appogg & Victim Support Unit (Police) and last but not least, a case study presented by the Peer to Peer group.  This is a group of professionals within the Commission who support various fields of this social and complex issue.  They share good practices and also contribute in brainstorming sessions to address various gaps.

It is recommended that participants choose more than one preference for the workshops as groups capacity will not exceed 35 persons.

Following the break-out sessions, a Digital Video Conference shall take place via a link with Washington.  This year we are having two US Experts in this field where the delegates shall have the opportunity to ask questions and comment on the presentations.

The CDV Conference has gained a lot of popularity in the last years and therefore you are advised to book as soon as possible as the places are limited and you would want to avoid disappointment.  In fact participation is against confirmation from the CDV office.
