1.        Background

The Agriculture Directorate within the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights is launching a public consultation period on a number of agricultural products and foodstuffs to be included in the National Register of Traditional Agro-food Products of Malta in line with Subsidiary Legislation 427.89 Establishment of the National Register of Traditional Agro-Food Products of Malta Regulations. The scope of this register is to officially recognise agricultural products and gastronomy as cultural heritage that are identified as traditional amongst the Maltese population.
