1.        Background​

 

The proposed development seeks the demolition of the current Mellieha Bay Hotel and its redevelopment. The hotel will have 472 guestroom with amenities, including seven restuarnats, two seasonal restaurants/bars, conference skills, three outdoor swimming pools, a tennis court and a futsal pitch, and children’s play areas, set in landscaped gardens.

The proposal requires an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) as per Schedule I, Category I, Section 7.1.1.1 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2017 (S.L. 549.46).    


2.        Consultation Questions
 

The Environment and Resources Authority is formulating terms of reference for the preparation of an EIA Report on the development mentioned above. The general public is invited to submit written comments on matters it wishes to see included in the terms of reference
