1.        Background​

 

The proposal seeks to construct a new school – St. Albert the Great Community College – with ancillary sport facilities and a childcare centre at Dawret Hal Ghaxaq c/w Triq il-Hareb c/w Unnamed Alley, Il-Hareb, Ghaxaq. The proposal will include the construction of four separate low-lying blocks. In addition to these blocks, an underground indoor sports facilities, an underground car parking, an external sports facilities, and an auditorium are also being proposed.

The proposal requires an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) as per Schedule I, Category II, Sections 1.0.2.1 and 7.1.2.1 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (S.L. 549.46).

The Environment and Resources Authority is formulating terms of reference for the preparation of an EIA Report on the development mentioned above. The general public is invited to submit written comments on matters it wishes to see included in the terms of reference.
