1.        Background​

 

The proposal involves the upgrading of the breakwater system at the Grand Harbour entrance to improve the wave climate within the harbour as well as dredging at the location known as Il-Ponta tal-Imgerbeb by constructing a berm and a revetment.

The proposal requires an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) as per Schedule I, Category II, Sections 6.2.2.2 and 6.2.2.3 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (S.L. 549.46). 

 

2.        Consultation Questions
 
The Environment and Resources Authority is formulating terms of reference for the preparation of an EIA Report on the development mentioned above. The general public is invited to submit written comments on matters it wishes to see included in the terms of reference.
