1.        Background

Information relating to the application for an IPPC application submitted by Wasteserv for the variation of IPPC permit IP 0003/19/V1 to introduce a small scale Material Recovery Facility (MRF) within the Malta North Waste Treatment Plant at Maghtab, for the sorting, baling and temporary storage of recovered material. The installation is located within the confines of the Naxxar Local Council.

As per the requirements stipulated in S.L. 549.77 Industrial Emissions (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control) Regulations the Environment and Resources Authority is consulting the general public to submit any objections or representations to the above IPPC application.

Any such objections, representations or comments will be entered into a register which will be made public on the Authority’s website, together with details of the objector, unless otherwise requested in writing that they should not be so publicised.  If there is such a request, the register will only include the objections, representations or comments that have been made.

The Environment and Resources Authority is hereby informing the public that Wasteserv have applied to the Environment and Resources Authority for the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit IP0003/19/V2 in relation to the operation of a Material Recovery Facility, which involves the sorting, baling and temporary storage of recovered material.
