1.        Background


Government is seeking the public’s feedback on the new Local Government Policy. The scope of this policy is to bring the decision-making process closer to our people and provided a clearer direction on areas that contribute to the true wellbeing of our communities. The document, herein attached, gives an overview of the ten pillars, each referring to a specific area, which Government seeks to see increased participation from Local Governments.

The objective is for malta to have a new modern policy framework that empowers Local Governments to better deliver for the community. The Vision is for Local Governments to be agile, smart, and inclusive, making them the ideal vehicles for embracing unity within the community.

2.        Consultation Questions

Section 6 of the document houses several questions specific to each of the pillars proposed in the policy. Section 7 then presents more generic questions.
