1.        Background

The proposed development involves the proposed excavation and construction of a new 368-roomed, 5-Star, high-rise hotel Class 3B including a car park with 214 parking spaces, and all ancillary facilities and amenities such as shops, restaurants and meeting rooms. The historic existing facades of the Fort Cambridge barracks building will be retained, while the existing southwest facade and internal structure will be demolished.
The proposal covers a site area of 2,506 sqm. The hotel will have an approximate total gross floor area of 39,000 sqm and an elevation of 40 floors in height.
Following the submission to ERA of the EIA Report, the Environment and Resources Authority is consulting the general public to submit written comments on the said document.
