1.        Background

Planning Application 02943/19 is to continue the redevelopment of the Ramla Bay Resort, particularly the main building (referred to as Phase 2). The proposal follows the redevelopment of part of the resort (referred to as Phase 1). 

The area to be redeveloped (Phase 2) currently consists of an existing hotel building, a restaurant, car park and surrounding open spaces and has a current footprint of 6,398 sq.m. The footprint is proposed to increase to 6,584 sq.m. The existing built up area covers approximately 48,689 sq.m Gross Floor Area (GFA) whereas the proposed GFA (Phase 1 + 2) is 63,347 sq.m.

The proposed development falls under Schedule I Category I as per Section 7.1.1.1 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2017 (S.L. 549.46).


2.        Consultation Questions

The Environment and Resources Authority is formulating terms of reference for the preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment of the development mentioned above. The general public is invited to submit written comments on matters it wishes to see included in the terms of reference.
